In other words, 8mp is the sweet spot if someone only looks at images at native 1920*1080 without zooming on the monitor. Looking at it from my monitor perspective all I need is a 3840*2040=7.8mp camera to see the zoomed 800mm resolution. My monitor is a 1920*1080 which is why I believe I am also happy with 800mm images. It should double the focal length from 400mm to 800mm. You have to monitor zoom beyond 2736*1824 to start seeing deterioration. I have tried probably every method of engaging the Intelligent Zoom feature for my new FZ1000. Now a 27" MAC monitor at 2560*1440 has less resolution than the 2736*1824 jpeg so there would be no deterioration in viewing quality. That is the actual optical pixel count - never mind that that the jpeg says it is still 5472*3648, that includes interpolated fill pixels so the cropped image fills the sensor. Assume you are shooting in which is normally 5472*3648, i.e. Not sure how it's done but the guys at Panasonic did it. USB, AV, micro HDMI, 2.5mm remote, 3.I have now also looked at the photos on my Mac, you have to look VERY darn close to see any deterioration and they are super minor. Maximum video clip length (at highest quality) Viewfinder magnification (35m-equivalent), coverage The FZ1000 joins the RX10 and GH4 in receiving a wholehearted recommendation from us. All three cameras are among the most exciting models currently available. For a small fraction of that price, the FZ1000 delivers exceptional photos and videos in a convenient, highly rewarding package. Then again, a GH4 plus a collection of lenses could easily exceed £2,000. We also have to wonder how many people want 4K and yet would be happy to forego the flexibility of the GH4's interchangeable lenses. The RX10 can't shoot 4K video and it has a shorter zoom range, but its lens is sharper and brighter and its magnesium body is more upmarket. However, we're still sorely tempted by the Sony RX10, which has recently dropped in price to around £700, or £650 with a £50 cashback offer (valid until 31 August). It has a decent telephoto range and fast performance for sports and wildlife, excellent image quality in low light and convincingly the best video mode we've seen this side of £1,000. Pas forcément dans mon esprit (confus certes). This is a camera that really can do it all. Sujet: Re: FZ1000 : réglages des modes, touches fn. These are not the same as 'Digital Zoom' nor 'Intelligent Zoom' ('iZoom') and the FZ1000 manual (pages 198-199) makes it quite clear that unlike EOZ, the other two will reduce IQ.
